Kurdistan Film Commission Hosts Kurdistan Producers Lab in Collaboration with EAVE

The Kurdistan Film Commission, in collaboration with European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE), hosted the Kurdistan Producers Lab, an intensive five-day program on film budgeting, financing, funding applications, and marketing/pitch decks, from 5 to 9 December 2025 in Slemani.

The lab brought together local directors and producers, providing them with the opportunity to learn from experienced European trainers about international co-productions, project development, and strategies to promote their films globally. Participants engaged in interactive sessions, one-on-one meetings, and practical workshops designed to strengthen their filmmaking skills and prepare their projects for international platforms.

The program concluded with an open Masterclass at the University of Sulaimani on 9 December 2025, covering topics such as international co-production and film marketing strategies, presented by Vicky Miha and Mathias Noschis. The Masterclass offered additional insights for filmmakers, students, and industry enthusiasts, emphasizing knowledge exchange and international collaboration.

The Kurdistan Producers Lab reflects the Kurdistan Film Commission’s commitment to developing the local film industry, nurturing talent, and enhancing the region’s presence in international cinema.
