Los Angeles, California – The Kurdistan Film Commission recently participated in the prestigious AFCI | Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) Week in Los Angeles, marking a significant milestone for the region’s presence in the global film industry.
The event brought together film industry professionals, producers, location managers, and film commissions from around the world, providing a platform to showcase Kurdistan’s diverse filming locations and production capabilities. As part of its engagement, the Kurdistan Film Commission introduced its services, facilities, and stunning landscapes to international industry leaders.
A highlight of the week was the 11th Annual Location Managers Guild International (LMGI) Awards, where representatives from the Kurdistan Film Commission attended alongside global location professionals. The commission expressed its ambition to see Kurdistan’s unique landscapes recognized in future nominations, reinforcing its commitment to establishing the region as a key filming destination. Special acknowledgment was given to John Rakich and the LMGI team for organizing a remarkable event.
