The announcement was made by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani and Bavi Yassin, Chairperson and Founder of the Commission, in the presence of panelists Amanda Toney, Kardo Razzazi, and Marjorie Galas, moderated by Georg Szalai from The Hollywood Reporter.

H.E. Qubad Talabani invited international productions to explore the rich, untold stories of Kurdistan and emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting cultural and creative development.

Bavi Yassin outlined the Commission’s long-term vision to professionalize the film sector, strengthen local talent, and build a sustainable industry anchored in international collaboration.
